cass playing Crwth DEUAWD, gan Cass Meurig and Nial Cain (Fflach:tradd 2009):

'Unusual and beautiful... a delight' SONGLINES
'contemplative but quietly daring to be different. A huge thumbs up' FROOTS
'There is magic throughout this exceptional album' R2
'seriously enchanting' LIVING TRADITION
Deuawd, ond of the releases of 2009, as a whole wafts me back to first listening to Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick in the 1960s and the realisation of how potent two musicians playing acoustic instruments could truly be. Music as total brain food.' Ken Hunt

NEWS

Cass and Nial are off to Rauland, Norway to play in the aptly named Winterfestivalen - brrr!

In December Cass and Nial spent a week at Jens Schroeder’s Dreamworld Studio in Pembrokeshire, where their previous critically acclaimed collection Deuawd was recorded. Their new album, Maeth, is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2012. Inspiration has come from many quarters, but particularly this time from the playful yet wistful qualities of lullabies, nursery rhymes and children’s songs from the Welsh tradition, of which there are several featured. Those who welcomed Deuawd into their hearts will love more of Cass and Nial's subtle yet emotional arrangements, beautifully sung and skilfully played on violin, guitar and crwth –  discerning children could just be converts too!

New songs!

Cass and Nial have finished recording and are now working on the artwork of their new album, to be released in the Spring of 2012. We'll keep you posted!
