Cass Meurig is a crwth and fiddle player specializing in Welsh music. She works as a soloist and in duos with guitarist Nial Cain, piper/flautist Ceri Rhys Matthews and Swedish/Estonian bowed harp player Sofia Joons. She also plays with Welsh band Pigyn Clust, was a member of Fernhill between 2000 and 2004 and appeared with Esyllt Harker in the storytelling and song show 'Ganthrig Bwt'.

January 2004 saw the release of Cass Meurig’s debut solo album ‘crwth’ featuring guest musicians Nigel Eaton on hurdy-gurdy and Bob Evans on crwth, on the acclaimed Welsh traditional music label Fflach: tradd (2004). Produced by Ceri Rhys Matthews. The world’s first solo recording of crwth music, this album delves deep into the Welsh musical tradition combining traditional tunes with new compositions. Earthy yet tender, the rich textures of the crwth create an atmospheric and profound listening experience. From the forgotten soundworld of medieval Wales through the creative hands of one of Wales's finest traditional musicians, this is music for the soul.
